Finches are those adorable birds that love to sing in your backyard, so if you would like to hear this sound more often, then finch feeders are what you need. Waking up in the morning and hearing them sing simply makes anyone’s day. These birds are lovely to watch, as they eat bird seeds from finch feeders, which you can hang on a branch or several branches.
Finch feeders let you keep finches as pets
Finches make for a popular pet, as they are easy to care for, and they are hardy little pretties. For the beginner pet owner, these excellent qualities make them the most logical and popular choice of bird pets. Simply put finch feeders in their cages, and there you will see them hanging onto them, and peck away until their throats bulge. It is funny looking at them eat, they simply hang on, and sometimes argue with another finch, if there is another inside the cage, and the way they argue over the seeds, can sometimes cause one to forget about life for a few minutes.
Artists like Celeste Boursier-Mougenot even lured finches in London for filming, by putting up finch feeders. The zebra finches enjoyed themselves so much that eventually electric guitars were set up to find out if they liked the sound as well as we do. In the film “The Curve”, the zebra finches starred in the most outstanding rock guitar playing ever filmed, using finch feeders to attract the finches.
Finches are native to the Southern Hemisphere, and there are some that are endemic to the Neotropics like the Hawaiian Islands. Another is only found in the Palaearctic. Otherwise, finches are fairly common in Europe. Some American sparrow family are also considered as finches. So it is very common to find finch feeders outside American homes.
Home finch feeders
FinchFeeders can be in the form of a sock made of mesh materials, that make it easy for finches to perch onto. Another type of finch feeders are the upside down thistle feeder, where the finches eat in upside down positions, and twitter away until they are satisfied. This is a popular choice among home owners because of the upside down birds; however, these finc feeders type do not encourage house finches, which is a pity.
Train your children to appreciate finches by making them refill the socks with thistle seeds when it becomes empty. Remember, once the finches know there is food around your house, they can twitter their hearts away to make you aware that they are in need of food. Enjoy finches in your back yard finch feeders, and experience the songs that can relax you. But make sure you keep feeding your finches, buy replenishing your finch feeders.
